# Create a document template

Create a document template to define how architectural documents are generated from diagrams and architectural artifacts in Enterprise Architecture Workspace.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_apm.apm\_user

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Enterprise Architecture Workspace**.

2.  Open the Setup page by selecting the Setup icon \(\[Omitted image "eaw-icon-setup.png"\] Alt text: setup icon.\).

3.  Select the expand row icon \(\[Omitted image "ExpandIcon.png"\] Alt text: expand row icon.\) next to **Templates**.

4.  Select **Document Templates**.

5.  Select **New**.

    Fill in the details. For field information, see [Document template form](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/application-portfolio-management/document-template-form.md).

6.  Select **Save**.


## What to do next

After creating a document template, you must define the content schema that determines what information is fetched from the diagram and related architectural records.
