# Add a business process activity to a business actor

Associate existing business process activities with a business actor, or create activities directly from the business actor record.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_apm.apm\_user

## About this task

Associating business process activities with business actors documents which roles, departments, or individuals are responsible for specific processes in your enterprise architecture.

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Enterprise Architecture Workspace**.

2.  Open the Portfolio List view by selecting the Portfolio icon \(\[Omitted image "portfolio-icon.png"\] Alt text:\).

3.  Select the expand row icon \(\[Omitted image "ExpandIcon.png"\] Alt text:\) next to **Business Architecture**.

4.  Select **Business Actors**.

5.  Select the business actor that you want to add a business process activity to.

6.  Select the **Business process activities** tab.

7.  Add a business process activity using one of the following methods.

    -   To add an existing business process activity:
        1.  Select **Add**.
        2.  In the Add business process activity window, select the business process activity. A suggested relationship type appears in the **Relationship type** field, but you can select a different type from the list, if needed.
        3.  Select **Add**.
    -   To create a business process activity, select **New** and complete the fields on the form. ## Result

The business process activity appears in the **Business process activities** related list for the business actor.
