# Add a business role to a business actor

Add existing business roles to a business actor in the Enterprise Architecture Workspace. You can also create a business role directly from the business actor record to identify the responsibilities that the business actor fulfills.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_apm.apm\_user

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Enterprise Architecture Workspace**.

2.  Open the Portfolio List view by selecting the Portfolio icon \(\[Omitted image "portfolio-icon.png"\] Alt text:\).

3.  Select the expand row icon \(\[Omitted image "ExpandIcon.png"\] Alt text:\) next to **Business Architecture**.

4.  Select **Business Actors**.

5.  Select the business actor that you want to add a business role to.

6.  Select the **Business roles** tab.

7.  Add a business role.

    -   To add an existing business role:
        1.  Select **Add**.
        2.  In the Add business role window, select the business role. A suggested relationship type appears in the **Relationship type** field, but you can select a different type from the list, if needed.
        3.  Select **Add**.
    -   To create a business role, select **New** and fill in the fields on the form. ## Result

The business role appears in the **Business roles** related list for the business actor.
