# Add a driver to a goal

You can add existing drivers to a goal in the Enterprise Architecture Workspace, or create a driver directly from the goal record, to identify what influences the goal.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_apm.apm\_user

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Enterprise Architecture Workspace**.

2.  Open the Portfolio List view by selecting the Portfolio icon \(\[Omitted image "portfolio-icon.png"\] Alt text:\).

3.  Select the expand row icon \(\[Omitted image "ExpandIcon.png"\] Alt text:\) next to **Business Architecture**.

4.  Select **Goals**.

5.  Select the goal that you want to add a driver to.

6.  Select the **Drivers** tab.

7.  Add a driver using one of the following methods:

    -   To add an existing driver:
        1.  Select **Add**.
        2.  In the Add driver window, select the driver. A suggested relationship type appears in the **Relationship type** field, but you can select a different type from the list, if needed.
        3.  Select **Add**.
    -   To create a driver: Select **New** and complete the fields on the form. ## Result

The driver appears in the **Drivers** related list for the goal.
