# Create a subflow

Create a subflow for the Workflow Studio for enabling external routing.

## Before you begin

Role required: admin

## Procedure

1.  On your ServiceNow instance, navigate to **All** > **Flow Designer** > **Subflows**.

2.  From the Actions list, select **Template - AWA Send Event**.

3.  Select **Copy subflow** from the More Actions menu \[Omitted image "more-actions-ne-icon.png"\] Alt text: More actions menu., copy the contents of the **Template - AWA Send Event** subflow and provide a name to it.

4.  Configure the action that you created in [Create a custom flow action](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/conversational-interfaces/advanced-work-assignment/create-custom-action.md).

    1.  Select the Add an Action, Flow Logic, or Subflow.

    2.  Select the action that you created and in the Actions form, fill in the fields.
