# Configure voice settings for a chat assistant

Turn voice dictation on or off for an assistant on the **Voice experience** page.

Role required: virtual\_agent\_admin or admin

## About this task

Voice settings are supported only on certain chat experiences, as shown in the following table.

|Assistant|Voice dictation|
|---------|---------------|
|ServiceNow Otto for Virtual Agent|premium chat only|
|ServiceNow Otto panel - Platform|all chat experiences|

Azure Speech Service is used for standard chat and enhanced chat and Cartesia for premium chat.

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to the assistant that you need to configure and select **Voice experience**.

    -   To let users talk to Otto using voice dictation instead of typing, select **Allow voice dictation**.
2.  Select **Save and continue**.
