# Create a communication task

Create an on-demand, customized message for a critical event in Critical Event Management, choose how often to send it, and select the communication channels.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_critical.agent

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Health and Safety Workspace** and select the **Critical Event Management** tab.

2.  Open the critical event.

3.  Select the **Notification center** tab.

4.  Select the **Create new communication** button.

5.  In the Communication form, fill in the fields.

6.  Select **Compose communication**.


## Result

If you chose **Now** from the **Compose and send communication** field on the Communication form, then a new tab opens so you can choose a template and compose your message. If you chose **Later**, then you're redirected back to the **Notification center** tab.

**Note:** You must compose the message before you can send the communication.
