# Assign topics to a quick link

After you create a quick link, you can assign topics to the quick link. The quick link content is then displayed in the assigned topic in the Employee Center and Employee Center Pro.

## Before you begin

Role required: sp\_admin, taxonomy\_manager, or taxonomy\_admin

## Procedure

1.  Do one of the following:

    -   \(If you have the sp\_admin role\) Navigate to **Employee Center** > **Quick Links**.
    -   Navigate to **Content Taxonomy** > **Quick Links**.
    The Quick Link module displays the list of existing quick links.

2.  Click the quick link that you want to assign a topic to.

3.  Click the **Assigned Topics** tab.

4.  Click **Add**.

5.  In the Select a Topic dialog box, do the following:

    1.  From the Taxonomy list, select a taxonomy.

        The list of all the topics associated with the selected taxonomy is displayed.

    2.  Select the topic that you want to assign to the quick link.

    3.  Click **OK**.

        **Note:** Add only the root topics to the Quick Links for optimal performance. Access the subtopics through the parent topics.

6.  Click the **Navigation** tab to see the associated **Advanced portal navigation** and **Menu item**.

7.  Click **Update**.

Ensure you relog in to make the new quick links visible.
