# Create an external link

Create external links to access external resources and content. When creating a quick link, you can select an external link as the content type to display in a topic.

## Before you begin

Role required: sp\_admin, taxonomy\_admin, or taxonomy\_manager

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Content Taxonomy** > **External Links**.

2.  Click **New**.

3.  On the form, fill in the fields.

4.  Click **Save** or **Submit**.
