Use knowledge management to reduce support tickets and empower users to find answers independently. Employee Slate surfaces Knowledge Management articles through the **Knowledge** widget and through conversational search in the chat. Understand the underlying application before you configure knowledge sources or the widget for employees. ## Knowledge widget Widget supports processes for creating, categorizing, reviewing, and approving articles. Users can search and browse articles, and users can provide feedback. To support multiple groups, individual managers can own knowledge bases. Separate workflows publish and retire articles, and separate access controls govern reading and contributing. ## Knowledge in Employee Slate Employee Slate provides multiple ways to access knowledge articles: - **Knowledge widget**: Displays curated articles on the home page and topic pages. Administrators configure which articles appear based on relevance and audience. - **Conversational search**: Employees ask questions in natural language through the chat interface. The AI assistant searches knowledge articles and returns relevant answers with source links. - **Browse experience**: Topic pages organize knowledge articles by category. Employees navigate the taxonomy to find articles related to specific subjects. The conversational interface interprets employee questions and retrieves the most relevant knowledge articles. Employees receive answers directly in the chat without navigating to separate pages. The assistant provides source citations so employees can review the full article when needed. **Related topics** [Configure knowledge widget](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/employee-service-management/employee-experience-foundation/eslate-configure-knowledge-widget.md) [Search sources](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/employee-service-management/employee-experience-foundation/eslate-add-search-sources.md) [Conversation-first catalog and knowledge](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/employee-service-management/employee-experience-foundation/eslate-conversational-catalog.md)
