# Add an action to a health and safety permit-to-work request

Create a Health and Safety action to a requested permit-to-work. This helps to address the root cause of any reported safety occurrence.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_hs\_rm.permit\_coordinator or sn\_ohs\_im.action\_writer

## About this task

You can add actions from the Actions tab on a Health and Safety record or by using the Action planner in the contextual sidebar. ## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Health and Safety** > **Health and Safety Workspace**.

2.  Select the risk management icon \(\[Omitted image "icon-risk-assessment.png"\] Alt text: Risk assessment icon\).

3.  Select the **Permit to work** list and select **All**.

4.  Open a permit record to add an action.

5.  In the Health and Safety actions tab of the related items, select **New**.

6.  On the form, fill in the fields.

7.  Select **Save**.

    The action appears in the list of actions in the **Health and Safety actions** tab of the permit record. It is also listed in the **Actions** list on Health and Safety Workspace.
