# Use transform maps

Transform maps specify data relationships between source table and target table.

**Note:**

-   Ensure that you index coalesce fields for better transformation performance.
-   SuccessFactors uses **9999-12-31**to indicate an ongoing employment with no scheduled end date. This value is automatically converted to blank in ServiceNow®.
