# Import outdoor elements

Import outdoor elements that you want to display on the indoor map. This can be a graphic element such as a logo or a an outdoor parking lot with parking spaces that needs to be created as Places.

## Before you begin

Role required: map admin, map editor, map editor limited

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Indoor Mapping** > **Map Studio**.

2.  Select a campus to add to your outdoor layer.

3.  Navigate to **Manage Workplace** > **Floor & Floorplans**.

4.  Add a new source and select the file you would like to import.

5.  Click **Continue**.

6.  Configure the raster source file.

7.  Edit the georeference.

8.  Select the layer type.

9.  Click **Start Import**.

10. Create a place on your campus by selecting **New point** or **New polygon**.

11. Make sure that you select the floor on a campus.

12. Start creating directions.
