## Overview

Employee Works supports users with the pre-hire role, letting pre-hire users access onboarding-related experiences before their official start date, including:

-   A welcome banner
-   Getting Started resources
-   Their onboarding journey
-   Our Culture content
-   Their onboarding team

Pre-hire users can view their onboarding journey and complete assigned onboarding tasks from within Employee Works.

## Otto for pre-hire users

Otto is available to users with the pre-hire role to provide onboarding-related guidance, answer questions, and surface welcome or onboarding messages.

## Access and security

Security, visibility, and access controls for pre-hire users are scoped so that existing employee experiences in Employee Works remain unaffected.
