# Cancel a privacy assessment request

Cancel a privacy assessment request if it is no longer necessary.

## Before you begin

**Note:** You can cancel a privacy assessment request regardless of its state.

Role required: sn\_lg\_ops.legal\_user

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Legal Request** > **Legal Service Portal**.

2.  Select **View all** from the **My Requests** panel.

3.  Open your submitted privacy assessment request.

4.  From the Actions menu, select **Cancel Request**.

5.  In the Confirm request cancellation dialog box, provide the reason for the cancellation in the **Comments** field.

6.  Select **Confirm Cancellation**.

    The request is canceled and the cancellation comments appear in the Additional Comments section of the request.

    Any associated active flows are terminated. Any pending approval record is also canceled and a comment is posted in the Additional Comments section of the approval record.
