# Create a Mentoring program

Create customized mentoring programs that can be adopted by a mentee.

## About this task

Mentoring admins can create multiple mentoring programs. Employees and managers use the Employee Center portal to enroll as mentors or mentees. ## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_ecn.mentoring\_admin

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Mentoring** > **Programs**.

2.  Select **New**.

3.  On the form, fill in the fields.

    |Field|Description|
    |-----|-----------|
    |Name|Name of the program.|
    |Minimum duration|The minimum number of moths that the mentoring program lasts.|
    |Maximum duration|The maximum number of months that the mentoring program lasts.|
    |Default duration|The default number of months that the mentoring program lasts.|
    |User criteria|Records that contain lists of users that can participate in a mentoring program. See, [Create User Criteria Records](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/servicenow-platform/create-user-criteria-record-in-knowledge-management.md).|
    |Auto complete overdue mentoring|When selected, a mentoring program is automatically closed when it’s overdue.|
    |Auto complete grace period|The number of months to wait before auto-completing overdue program.|
    |Short description|A brief description of a mentoring program that is visible in the UI that lists the program.|
    |Description|A longer more detailed description of the mentoring program.|

4.  Select **Submit**.
