# Opting out of a prompt in Employee Portal

Choose not to receive a specific prompt by opting out of the signal displayed in Employee Portal.

## Before you begin

Role required: none

-   Make sure that Manager Hub and Talent Development installed to access these tabs in the Employee Portal.
-   To access the prompts on any other portal page in the Employee Portal, the Prompt widget must be added. ## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Employee Center**.

2.  In Employee Center, navigate to the appropriate hub depending on whether you are a manager or employee.

    -   If you are a manager, navigate to **Your team** > **Manager Hub**.
    -   If you are an employee, navigate to **Your career** > **Career Hub**.
3.  On the prompt widget, display a list of all signals by selecting the Manage preferences icon \(\[Omitted image "more-actions-icon.png"\] Alt text: Actions icon.\).

    **Note:** All signals for which there is a prompt in the prompts table are listed regardless of their status.

4.  Select **Off** for the signal that you want to opt out of.

    **Note:** If you decide you want to receive the prompt again, you would select **On**.

5.  Select **Update**.


## Result

You will not receive prompts from the selected signal. The opted-out prompts are moved to the Dismiss state.
