# Aspirations overview

Create and set your aspirations to help inspire and guide you on your career growth and development journey.

Create and track personal and professional aspirations.

-   **__Aspiration Types__**

    A general category used to help focus your aspiration.

-   **Interest**

    Interest gives you an opportunity to contribute to a given area of interest. You can set an aspiration for any topics you want to explore.


-   **Skill**

    Skill gives you the opportunity to become a specialist in something you're already good at, or to tackle something new.

-   **Role**

    Role gives you the opportunity to earn a new title in your current trajectory, or to try something in a different field.

-   **General**

    If your aspiration falls outside the interest, skill and role categories, general gives you the opportunity to make something from scratch.
