# Create a growth plan with the help of Now Assist

Use Now Assist to help create a growth plan to give your career goals guidance and structure.

## Before you begin

Role required: No role is required, but you must be a licensed user.

**Note:** You must be in a user group that is linked with the Talent Development apps.

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Self-Service** > **Employee Center**.

2.  Select **Your Career** > **Growth plans**.

3.  Select the **Create a growth plan** button.

4.  Select **Build with Now Assist**.

5.  Enter text in the **Write directions for Now Assist or use examples below** text box.

    You can write your own directions by adding your goals and milestones, or use the provided template. The more details that you add the better the resulting growth plan matches your intentions.

    Here’s an example of how to write directions: "I want to improve my public speaking and presentation skills to help me get to the next level in my career."

6.  Select **Generate draft**.

7.  Review the draft growth plan generated by Now Assist.

    You have several options on how to proceed.

    -   **Discard**: Discard this plan if you don't like it. The plan and any activities you added are deleted.
    -   **Edit directions**: Edit the directions to generate a new growth plan draft. Any existing drafts are deleted.
    -   **Share**: Get feedback from your manager on your plan draft and work together to create a better plan.
    -   **Launch plan**: Share this plan with your manager as soon as it launches. Is your plan ready to go?
    You can also add activities.

    -   **Learning activities**: Search for a course name or keyword to find more learning activities.
    -   **Check-in**: Schedule a conversation and add it to your calendar once you have launched your plan.
    -   **Mentorship**: Add a reminder to your growth plan that you want to connect with a mentor. See, [Enroll as a mentor or mentee](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/employee-service-management/mentoring/enroll-mentoring.md).
    -   **Something else**: Add your own activity to your plan.
