# Define the capacity of workplace areas

Set the capacity for areas of your workplace in Workplace Core to enable reservations for the area. The capacity ensures a limit to the workplace reservations for these areas so you can ensure safety guidelines.

## Before you begin

-   [Add your workplace data](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/employee-service-management/workplace-core/providing-your-workplace-data-wsd.md).
-   Ensure you have the details of the maximum capacity for the areas of your workplace.

Role required: sn\_wsd\_core.workplace\_manager

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Workplace Safety Management** > **Space Administration** > **Areas**.

2.  Open an area to which you want to add the capacity.

3.  On the Area form, enter a value for the **Capacity** field.

    For example, if this area can accommodate only 8 people safely according to physical distancing guidelines, set the value to 8.

4.  Select **Update**.
