# Create a test plan in Audit Workspace

Create a test plan to document the control testing procedure. You can create a test plan from scratch or based on a test template to describe how a feature is to be tested.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_audit.manager, sn\_audit\_ws.supervisor, sn\_audit\_ws.auditor, sn\_audit.user

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Audit** > **Audit Workspace**.

2.  Click **Create** and select **Test plan** from the **Home** page.

    You can also create a test plan by navigating to the Audit workspace List page.

    1.  Click the lists icon \(\[Omitted image "ListsIcon.jpg"\] Alt text: List icon.\).
    2.  Click **Test plans** in the Execution list.
    3.  Click **New**.
    You can also create a test plan from an engagement that is in **Validate** or **Fieldwork** state by selecting the test plan and clicking the **Generate Control Tests** button in the Test plans related list.

3.  To change the content of the test plan to the content in the test template, click **Revert to template** button.

4.  On the form, fill in the fields.

Basic requirement that should be met for a control to be effective.

Procedure or steps to be followed to conclude whether the design of the control is effective to achieve the control objective or not. This is based on the design expectation.

Operational test

Operational expectations

Expectations that should be met to ensure that the control is operating effectively to achieve the control objective.

Detailed steps, to carry out the operational expectations, which need to be performed to conclude that the control is operating successfully.
