The application helps you analyze business impact, develop continuity plans, test your readiness through exercises, and respond to real‑world crises. ## Business Continuity Management overview The Business Continuity Management application provides a framework to perform continuous management activities such as business impact analysis, business continuity planning, exercise management, and crisis management. Its structured workflows improve your organizational ability to respond to issues and recover quickly from disruptions. ## Business Continuity Management workflow A workflow in the Business Continuity Management application involves steps for managing business continuity tasks: \[Omitted image "bcm-data-flow-lucid.png"\] Alt text: BCM high level workflow. 1. Download the Business Continuity Management application from the ServiceNow Store with administrator role. 2. Set up the BCM application and templates for continuity tasks with BCM administrator role. 3. Create a business impact analysis \(BIA\) with BCM program manager role to understand the impact of disruptions and estimate recovery times. 4. Review and approve the BIA with BCM program manager or BCM lead roles to verify findings and recommendations. 5. Create a business continuity plan \(BCP\) that includes assets, scope, documentation, recovery teams, loss scenarios, related plans, and recovery tasks. Send a request to review and approve the business continuity plan. 6. Create exercise events to test plans, tracks the assets and their dependencies, and validate recovery capabilities. 7. Respond to crisis events, track recovery actions, and mitigate operational disruptions. 8. Manage alerts from the Crisis map and initiate response workflows. 9. Send emergency notifications in Everbridge notifications system to alert stakeholders. ## Accessibility compliance Starting with BCM core version 12.0.x, Accessibility improvements were made to Business Continuity Management \(BCM\) pages and components: - Updates include accessible names for buttons and interactive elements across Crisis map, Gantt view, Event tasks, Asset dependencies, and Business continuity planning pages. Keyboard navigation was corrected for forms and recovery task pages. These updates benefit users who rely on screen readers, keyboard-only users, and users of other Assistive Technology \(AT\). - Reflow support for BCM: Content can be zoomed up to 400% through your browser settings, with page layouts automatically transforming into a vertical, stacked view without loss of content or functionality. This enhancement helps users with low vision or who have trouble seeing web content due to monitor size, device type, poor lighting, or other situations. ## Business Continuity Management benefits The Business Continuity Management application provides these benefits: |Benefit|Feature|Users| |-------|-------|-----| |Manage continuity activities in an interactive dashboard.|[Home page view](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/governance-risk-compliance/home-page-uib-ws.md)|BCM program manager| |Monitor individual and team tasks from a single dashboard in the **My tasks** view.|[My tasks page view](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/governance-risk-compliance/my-tasks-page-uib-ws.md)|BCM program manager| |Assess the criticality of services and applications.|[Create a business impact analysis](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/governance-risk-compliance/create-bia-in-uib-ws.md)|BCM program manager or BIA administrator| |Prepare a business continuity plan with a response strategy and request approvals from BCM leads and program managers.|[Create a business continuity plan](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/governance-risk-compliance/create-bcp-plan-in-uib-ws.md)|BCM program manager or BCP administrator| |Test and improve business continuity plan continuously.|[Create an exercise](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/governance-risk-compliance/start-exercise-event-in-uib-ws.md)|BCM program manager or BCM planner| |Respond to actual crisis events and manage associated event tasks.|[Start a crisis event](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/governance-risk-compliance/start-crisis-event-in-uib-ws.md)|BCM program manager or BCM planner| |Respond to the alerts and set recovery tasks into action.|[Manage alerts from the map interface](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/governance-risk-compliance/manage-alerts-in-crisis-map-interface-uib-ws.md)|BCM administrator or BCM program manager| |Communicate critical updates to stakeholders.|[Sending notifications with Everbridge](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/governance-risk-compliance/ebn-collective-tasks.md)|BCM administrator or BCM program manager| ## Coral theme The Business Continuity Workspace uses the Coral theme by default, offering a refreshed, brand‑neutral interface with optional dark mode for both web and mobile.
