# Retire a risk assessment methodology

Retire a risk assessment methodology \(RAM\) that is no longer used. Retiring unused RAMs makes it easier to manage the active RAMs for the risk administrator.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_risk.admin

## About this task

When you retire a risk assessment methodology, it is important to note that you cannot make a retired RAM active again. You must also note that:

-   all the factors associated with this methodology retire.
-   the risk assessment scope retires.
-   all open associated assessments retire.

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Advanced Risk Assessment** > **Administration** > **Risk Assessment Methodologies**.

2.  Select and open the risk assessment methodology that you want to retire.

3.  Click **Retire**.

    The state changes to **Retired**.
