# Configure Entity-based access

Configure entity-based access by installing the Entity-based Access Configurations plugin and enabling properties for record types.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_privacy.admin

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **System definition** > **Plugins**.

2.  Find the **Entity Based Access Configurations** plugin by using the filter criteria and search bar.

3.  Select a version from the list and select **Install**.

    The plugin is installed in your instance.

4.  Navigate to **All** > **Entity Based Access Configurations** > **Properties**.

5.  Enable the **Entity-based access on record types related to entity** property.

6.  Select **Save**.


## Result

Based on your selected settings, the entity-based access properties are configured in your system.
