# Create a region

Create geographic regions based on the data of the residents that is collected as a part of your business operations. Examples of regions are America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and so on.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_privacy\_case.privacy\_case\_admin. This role must contain the user\_admin role.

## About this task

When you create a region, it is necessary to set the **Parent** field as empty.

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Privacy Case Management** > **Breach Assessment Configuration** > **Regions**.

2.  Select **New**.

3.  On the form, fill in the fields.

4.  Select **Submit**.

Create jurisdictions for regions for data breach notification obligations as each obligation is broken down by jurisdiction. Jurisdiction can be created two levels below a region.
