# Adding attachments to assessment

You may have documents or image files that provide additional information for the assessment, you can attach these documents to assessments in the open state. These documents and image files can be added as attachments to the assessment for reference.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_smart\_asmt.actor

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to your workspace and then to your list of assessments.

    Here’s an example of how to navigate to this list in the Compliance Workspace.

    1.  Navigate to **All** > **Policy and Compliance** > **Compliance Workspace**.
    2.  Select the tasks icon \[Omitted image "list-icon.png"\] Alt text:.
    3.  Select the **Control attestations** > **Smart Assessments** on the left panel.
    4.  The smart assessments list is displayed.
2.  Select the assessments in which you want to add the attachments.

3.  From the contextual sidebar, select the **Attachment** icon \[Omitted image "adding-attachments.png"\] Alt text:.

    The **Attachments** sidebar appears.

4.  Select the **Select file** button.

5.  Select a file from your local computer and select **Open**.

    The selected file appears in the Attachments list.

6.  Repeat the process to add multiple attachments.
