# Create a healthcare organization

Create a healthcare organization, such as a healthcare provider, healthcare department, or organizational team, and associate it with a parent healthcare organization and a common location.

Role required: admin

## About this task

The menu item you navigate to determines which organization type is created and whether that field is set automatically.

|To create a|Navigate to|Organization type|
|-----------|-----------|-----------------|
|Healthcare provider|**All** > **Healthcare Operations** > **Healthcare providers**|Set automatically to **Healthcare provider** and read-only.|
|Healthcare department|**All** > **Healthcare Operations** > **Healthcare departments**|Set automatically to **Healthcare department** and read-only.|
|Organizational team|**All** > **Healthcare Operations** > **Healthcare organizations**|Set manually to **Organizational Team**.|

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to the menu item for the type of healthcare organization you want to create.

2.  Select **New**.

3.  If you navigated to the generic **Healthcare organizations** list, set the **Organization type** field to the value you want.

    **Note:**

    If you navigated to **Healthcare providers** or **Healthcare departments**, this field is already set and read-only.

4.  Fill in the following fields.

    |Field|Description|
    |-----|-----------|
    |Name|Name to identify the healthcare organization.|
    |Parent Organization|Parent organization associated with this healthcare organization.|
    |Manager|The manager associated with this healthcare organization.|
    |Phone|Phone number of the healthcare organization.|
    |Email|Email address associated with the healthcare organization.|
    |Description|A description of this healthcare organization.|
    |This is an internal location|Indicates that this healthcare organization is considered an internal location.|
    |Common Location|The common location associated with this healthcare organization.|

5.  Select **Submit**.
