# Add a CIMD client

Add a CIMD client that connects to MCP servers through AI Gateway.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_ai\_governance.ai\_steward

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **AI Control Tower** > **Home** > **Inventory** and select an MCP server.

2.  Select the **AI Gateway** tab.

3.  Select the **Setup** sub-tab.

4.  In the MCP client integration section, select **Add client**.

    **Note:** The Add client form presents two registration types: CIMD client and MCP client. Select the appropriate client.

5.  Select CIMD client.

6.  Enter the **Client ID**.

7.  Select **Validate**.

8.  Select the **Metadata sync mode**.

9.  Select **+Add URL** to add Redirect URL.

10. Enter the **Logo URL**.

11. Configure the Security controls \(Optional\).

12. Select **Save**.


## Result

The CIMD client is added and registered.
