# Software Asset Management installation methods

Install the Software Asset Management application from Product Hub or ServiceNow Store.

Before you can use Software Asset Management capabilities, you must install the application on your ServiceNow instance.

## Installation methods

Choose an installation method based on your needs:

Product Hub

You are installing the SAM application for the first time and want a guided installation experience. Product Hub installs your entitled application and displays additional applications and plugins available for your subscription tier.**Important:** Product Hub and Configuration Console are available starting from Australia Patch 7.

ServiceNow Store

</td><td>

You are installing the SAM application without using the guided Product Hub experience, or your instance does not have the [Setup Hub](https://store.servicenow.com/store/app/4f085e4997e9831876b932471153afa8) \(sn\_ia\_base\) or ServiceNow Otto for Setup \(sn\_ia\) application installed.

The Product Hub provides a guided installation and management interface for the Software Asset Management application. Administrators can install the application, apply default configurations, track progress, and access the Configuration Console from the Software Asset Management Admin Home tile.

Use the Configuration Console to configure Software Asset Management after installation. Complete platform-level settings, configure key items with AI assistance, and package configurations for deployment to other instances.
