# Add scrum tasks to a story in CWM

Break down a user story into scrum tasks in Collaborative Work Management \(CWM\) to distribute work across team members and track daily progress during a sprint.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_cwm.cwm\_user

## About this task

Scrum tasks are added one at a time from the **Scrum tasks** tab on a story form. To generate multiple scrum tasks at once based on the story description using Now Assist, see [Generate scrum tasks for a story with ServiceNow Otto](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-business-management/collaborative-work-management/generate-scrum-tasks-for-stories-cwm.md).

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Collaborative Work Management**.

2.  From a Space, select a Board.

3.  Open a story by selecting it from one of the views \(List, Gantt, Kanban, or Sprint planning\).

4.  Select the **Scrum Tasks** tab on the story form.

5.  Select **Add new**.

6.  Enter a name for the scrum task.

7.  Select the Save icon \(\[Omitted image "cwm-icon-scrum-task-save.png"\] Alt text:\).

8.  Select **+ Add new** to add more scrum tasks.
