# Create resource assignments for demands

Create and manage resource assignments for demands directly from Next Experience for Demand Management to efficiently manage the work on demands.

## Before you begin

Role required: it\_demand\_manager

The demand must have planned dates.

## About this task

-   To create, edit, or remove resource assignment records, you can also use the **Estimate resource requirements** Playbook activity. -   To create, edit, or remove resource assignment records, you can also use the **Create resource assignments** tab in **Details**.

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Portfolio Planning Workspace**.

2.  Select the Demands icon \[Omitted image "demands-icon.png"\].

3.  Open a demand from the **List** page.

4.  Select the **Resources** tab.

    The resource grid opens for the demand's timeline, grouped by **Primary Group**.

5.  To change the effort unit, select the effort unit list and then select **Hours**, **FTE**, or **Person Days**.

6.  To change the time scale, select the time scale list and then select **Monthly** or **Weekly**.

7.  To group the grid differently, select an option from the **Group by** list: **Primary Group**, **Primary Role**, **Primary Skill**, or **None**.

8.  Select **New** or select **New Resource Assignment** from the more actions list.

9.  On the New Resource Assignment form, fill in the fields.

10. Select **Submit**.


## Result

The resource assignment appears in the grid. An assignment made for a resource from the resource board must be within the selected date range. If so, it shows up nested under the selected resource in real-time.
