# Open the project planning console

Access the planning console to perform the planning for the project.

## Before you begin

Role required: it\_project\_manager

## Procedure

-   Open the planning console using any of the following methods.

**From project workspace**

1.  Open a project record in [project workspace](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-business-management/project-workspace/access-the-project-workspace.md).
2.  Select the **Planning** tab.

1.  Navigate to a project record in **Details** tab in project workspace.
2.  Select the **Planning Console** related link.

1.  Select the **Project Workbench** selection arrow on the workbench banner.
2.  Select **Planning Console** from the list.
