# Assign a project schedule

Assign a schedule to a project so that task durations and dates reflect real working days and hours.

## Before you begin

Role required: it\_project\_manager

A project uses a schedule to determine which days and hours count as working time. Without an assigned schedule, a project treats every day as a full 24 hours, which makes task durations and the finish date unrealistic. Assign a schedule to base the project on real working time. If the schedules in the base system don't fit your needs, define a new one.

## Procedure

1.  Open a project.

2.  If the **Default** view is active, right-click the header bar and select **View** > **Advanced**.

3.  Select a schedule in the **Schedule** field and select **Save**.
