# Update task dependency details from Project Workspace

Update the details of the dependency including its type and lag time from Project Workspace.

## Before you begin

Role required: it\_project\_manager

## Procedure

1.  Open a project from the home page of Project Workspace.

    For information, see [Access the Project Workspace](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-business-management/project-workspace/access-new-project-workspace.md).

2.  Open the dependency side panel in one of the two ways.

    |Option|Action|
    |------|------|
    |**From the data grid**|From the dependency column, select the dependency of the task.|
    |**From the timeline view**|Select the dependency line.|

3.  Edit the fields.

4.  Select **Update**.
