# Enable negative budgets for planning items in Strategic Planning

Track budget overruns and deficits by enabling negative budget values for planning items in Strategic Planning.

## Before you begin

Role required: admin

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **System Properties** > **Properties**.

2.  Filter the Name column to locate and open **sn\_invst\_pln.allow\_negative\_budget** property.

3.  Update the Value field to **True** and select **Update**.
