# Improve data quality using the refine records skill

Use the refine records skill to shorten or elaborate text in demand records, helping demand managers and users improve clarity and completeness before saving.

## About this task

The refine records skill uses other fields in the form to generate content for rich or long text fields. You can select existing text or enter new text, then shorten or elaborate it without losing key information.

**Note:** AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. Review all AI-generated text before saving the record.

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Strategic Planning Workspace**.

2.  Select the Demands icon \[Omitted image "demands-icon.png"\].

3.  Open a demand from the **List** page.

4.  Select **Details** from the navigation menu.

5.  In a text field of your record, select the text to refine.

    For example, select the text in the **Description** field of a demand.

6.  Refine the selected text.

    1.  Open the **Refine with AI** menu.

    2.  Select **Shorten** or **Elaborate**.

7.  Select **Replace** to update the text field with the AI-generated content.

    The text field updates with the AI-generated content.
