# Add a test case to a test suite

Create and add test case to an existing test suite.

## Before you begin

-   [Create a test suite](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/it-business-management/test-management/t_CreateATestSuite.md).
-   Role required: tm\_test\_manager or tm\_tester

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Test Management** > **Test Repository** > **Test Suites**.

2.  Open the test suite to which you want to add a test case.

3.  From the Test Cases related list, click **New**.

4.  On the form, fill in the fields.

    |Field|Description|
    |-----|-----------|
    |Number|System-generated unique identifier of the test case.|
    |Active|Option to indicate if the test case is active.|
    |Test Suite|Test suite which the test case is added to.|
    |Short Description|Detailed description of the test case.|
    |Prerequisites|Any conditions that must be met before the test case is executed.|

5.  Click **Submit**.
