# Amazon Redshift discovery with Patterns

The ServiceNow® Discovery application uses the Amazon AWS Redshift pattern to find Redshift data warehouse services available on Amazon Web Services \(AWS\). Discovering some of these resources might require updating to the latest version of the Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application from the ServiceNow Store.

Redshift runs as a cluster of compute nodes with an additional leader node. The leader node acts as an interface with client applications and coordinates communication between the compute nodes.

## Data collected by Discovery during horizontal discovery

Discovery populates the data in the CMDB when running the Amazon AWS Redshift pattern.

Discovery creates these relationships to support the Amazon Redshift discovery.

## Tag discovery

The Amazon AWS Redshift pattern collects tags and populates them in the Key Value \[cmdb\_key\_value\] table.
