# Update an alert description in Express List based on a ServiceNow Otto for ITOM analysis summary

Update alert descriptions in alert groups or single alerts in Express List, to a human-readable summary generated by AI.

## About this task

Updating the alert description is available for the alert types:

-   Tag-based alert group.
-   CMDB correlation alert group.
-   Network Traffic correlation alert group.
-   Log Analytics single alerts and alert group.
-   Mixed alert group.
-   Automated alert group.

## Before you begin

Role required: evt\_mgmt\_operator, evt\_mgmt\_admin

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Service Operations Workspace**.

2.  In the navigation bar, select the Express List icon \(\[Omitted image "express-list1.png"\] Alt text: Express List icon.\).

3.  In the Active alerts list, select the information icon \(\[Omitted image "info.png"\] Alt text: Information icon.\) of an alert.

4.  On the preview panel **Info** tab, select **Analyze** in Alert analysis by ServiceNow Otto.

5.  Review the human-readable, AI-generated summary in the Alert analysis.

6.  On the preview panel **Info** tab, select **Update description** to update the description based on the summary content of the alert group.

    The AI-generated summary content replaces the original description of the alert group.
