# Stop or restart a data input in Health Log Analytics

You can stop using a data input for streaming log messages to your ServiceNow instance. Restart the data input if you want it to resume streaming data.

## Before you begin

This functionality is available only when the data input configuration has been published.

Role required: evt\_mgmt\_admin

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Health Log Analytics** > **Data Input** > **Log Data Inputs**.

2.  Open a data input record from the Data Inputs table.

3.  Select **Stop Data Input**.

    The name of the button changes to **Start Data Input**.

4.  To start using the data input again, select **Start Data Input**.
