# Add an application for monitoring

Add an application to the list of all the applications that are being monitored. With a comprehensive view of your applications, you can quickly identify and address issues as they arise.

## Before you begin

Confirm that the DEX plugin \(sn\_dex\) is installed.

To add an application to be monitored, verify you have completed the following tasks:

Role required: sn\_dex.admin

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **Workspaces** > **Service Operations Workspace**.

2.  In the primary navigation pane, select the DEX Administration icon \(\[Omitted image "icon-administration.png"\] Alt text:\).

3.  On the Application management card, select **Configure applications**.

    The list of monitored applications appears.

4.  Select **New** > **Installed app** or **New** > **Web app**.

5.  On the form, fill in the fields.

6.  Move the monitoring toggle switch \(\[Omitted image "icon-toggle-button-enabled.png"\] Alt text: Use the toggle switch to activate monitoring for the application.\) to turn on the reporting.

7.  Select **Save**.


## Result

The application is added to the list of monitored applications.
