# Create extension points for Work scheduler

Create extension points to customize your implementation in Work scheduler. For example, if you want your team members to work on an on-site task, you can configure the location of your team members to the work items assigned to them so that they can get to the tasks quickly.

## Before you begin

**Important:** Starting with the Brazil release, Workforce Optimization for ITSM is being prepared for future deprecation. It will be hidden and no longer installed on new instances but will continue to be supported. For details, see the [Deprecation Process \[KB0867184\]](https://support.servicenow.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0867184) article in the Now Support Knowledge Base.

Role required: admin

You must set the application scope to Work scheduler \(sn\_wfo\_work\_sched\).

## About this task

The **WorkItemSkillsRecommendationManager** extension point is available by default.

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **System Extension Points** > **Scripted Extension Points**.

2.  Open the **sn\_wfo\_work\_sched.WorkItemRecommendationManager** extension point.

3.  In the Related Links section, select **Create Implementation**.

4.  Define the functions based on your needs to customize your implementation.
