# Operational Technology Manager \(OT\) configuration item extension classes

Operational Technology Manager uses Operational Technology \(OT\) configuration item \(CI\) extension classes that extend the CMDB class hierarchy as shown in the following figure.

Operational Technology Manager includes class descriptions, identification rules, identifier entries, and dependent relationships, if applicable. The Service Graph applications use these class extensions to populate CIs and discover various technologies and software.
