# Edit HTML content in an email notification

For added control over the content of an email notification, you can edit the underlying HTML.

## Before you begin

Role required: admin

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **System Notification** > **Email** > **Notifications**.

2.  Open an email notification record.

3.  On the form, open the **What it will contain** tab.

4.  In the **Message HTML** field, select the source code icon \(\[Omitted image "source-code-icon.png"\] Alt text: Source code icon\) to open the HTML source code editor.

5.  Make the needed changes to the HTML.

6.  On the window, select **Ok**.

7.  On the form, select **Update**.
