Grouping can help you find data quickly by organizing and providing a summary of search or filter results. For example, this picture shows active incidents grouped by caller. \[Omitted image "GroupList.png"\] Alt text: List grouped by caller - Groups are named for the values of the field selected for grouping. For example, if you group by the assigned user, each group is a user's name. - The record count for each group appears next to the group name. - The total number of items in the list \(all groups combined\) appears near the paging controls in the list. This total displays only when the list is grouped on a field. **Parent Topic:**[Lists in the classic environment](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/platform-user-interface/c_UseLists.md) ## Use a grouped list You can find information by grouping a list by a particular field.
