# Configure Next Experience Workspace preferences

Set up your Workspace display preferences.

## Before you begin

Workspace preferences display only if you have access to a Workspace and the Workspace is in focus.

Role required: none

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **User Menu** > **Preferences** > **Workspace**.

2.  Select the toggle next to each option to turn the preference on or off.

    |-----|-----------|
    |\[Omitted image "pol-pref-workspace-ribbon.png"\] Alt text: Show the ribbon.|Shows the ribbon widget by default when the form loads.|
    |\[Omitted image "pol-pref-workspace-sidebar.png"\] Alt text: Show the sidebar.|Shows the contextual side panel by default when the form loads.|
    |\[Omitted image "pol-pref-workspace-activity-stream.png"\] Alt text: Expand activity stream items by default.|Expands all activities in the activity stream automatically.|
    |\[Omitted image "pol-pref-workspace-lazy.png"\] Alt text: Lazy load workspace pages.|Loads all content on a page dynamically, as needed. Disable this preference to load all content immediately.|
