# Enable dark theme

Use Coral dark theme on a portal to improve focus, readability, and accessibility.

## Before you begin

Role required: admin

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **Service Portal** > **Home**.

2.  Select your **User Profile**.

3.  Under **User preferences** > **Theme**, select **Coral Dark**.

    **Note:** If you have a theme variant available, you can select the theme variant instead of Coral Dark. For more information about theme variants, see [Create a theme variant](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/platform-user-interface/service-portal/create-theme-variant.md).

4.  Refresh the portal.
