# Select a theme in Core UI

You can switch between different themes for the user interface.

## About this task

Themes are user-specific. Each user can select a different theme and the selection is stored as a [user preference](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/platform-user-interface/c_UserPreferences.md).

## Procedure

1.  Select the gear icon \(\[Omitted image "IconUI16Gear.png"\] Alt text: Gear icon\) in the banner frame to access the System Settings window.

2.  Select the **Theme** tab, and then select the theme.
