# Install the Solution Management for Vulnerability Response application

Before you can use the Solution Management for Vulnerability Response feature of Vulnerability Response in your instance, you must complete the installation of the Vulnerability Solution Management application. This application is available as a separate subscription in the ServiceNow Store.

## Before you begin

Complete the following setup checklist before installation. Perform these setup tasks for a smooth installation.

**Note:** This process applies only to applications that are downloaded to production instances. If you're downloading applications to non-production or development instances, it's not necessary to get entitlements. Proceed to [Activate a ServiceNow Store application](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/security-management/activate-entitled-store-app.md).

The Microsoft Security Response Center Solution Integration and Red Hat Solution Integration are solution applications available in Solution Management for Vulnerability Response after you install Vulnerability Solution Management.

Verify that you have entitlement to the application.

To verify you have entitlement to the Vulnerability Solution Management application, navigate to **Subscription Management** &gt; **Subscriptions** in your instance. The list displays the subscriptions your organization has purchased.

Verify that you have the required ServiceNow AI Platform roles assigned for your instance.

The following roles are required for installation and verification of expected results: -   The system administrator \[admin\] installs the application. If not already assigned, the admin assigns the vulnerability admin \[sn\_vul.vulnerability\_admin or sn\_vul.admin \(deprecated\)\] role.
-   The vulnerability admin oversees configuration and verifies expected results.

## Procedure

1.  To get entitlement and download the Vulnerability Solution Management core application, navigate to the ServiceNow Store.

    In the ServiceNow Store, you must verify that you have entitlements \(or licenses\) to the application and its dependent applications. After you have logged in, you can use the menu in the upper right with your initials to manage entitlements and opt-in.

2.  In the upper right of the page, select **Log In**.

3.  In the dialog that is displayed, enter your Now Support credentials and select **Login**.

4.  On the page that is displayed, if not selected, select the **ServiceNow Products** tab.

    **Note:**

    In the ServiceNow Store, you must verify that you have entitlements \(or licenses\) to the application and its dependent applications.

    If you do not intend to upgrade to Unified Security Exposure Management, install a version that is lower than v30.x of this application and for upgrades to its supported third-party integration applications.

5.  Select **Request Install** to download the application.

6.  Log in to the ServiceNow AI Platform instance that you want to install the Vulnerability Solution Management application on.

7.  Navigate to **All** &gt; **System Applications** &gt; **All Available Applications** &gt; **All**.

8.  From the applications listed, locate the Vulnerability Solution Management application, select a version from the list, and select **Install**.

    The Application installation dialog is displayed. Any dependencies that will be installed are displayed.

9.  After installation is successfully completed, select **Close**.

    The Microsoft Security Response Center Solution Integration and Red Hat Solution Integration are solution applications available in Solution Management for Vulnerability Response after you install Vulnerability Solution Management.

    View the Vulnerability Solutions by navigating to **All** &gt; **Vulnerability Response** &gt; **Administration** &gt; **Setup Assistant** &gt; **Integration Configuration** &gt; **Solution Integrations**.
