# Adding or creating scripts to a remote record producer

As a provider, you can perform more complex tasks and gain better control over catalog requests from consumers by using various scripts in a remote record producer \(RRP\). Consumers must approve all scripts to use the RRP.

In Service Exchange, you can apply scripts to an RRP by:

-   Creating catalog client scripts: You can create catalog item scripts to customize an RRP. For details, see [Create catalog client scripts](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/service-exchange/service-bridge-v2-create-client-script.md).
-   Adding scripts in variables: You can add scripts in a variable and use the variable in the RRP.
